My lessons went well again today. I am finally understanding what the students need from me as
a teacher to be successful in the classroom, and the students are understanding
what I expect from them. Not to
mention the students are getting more and more comfortable with my teaching,
and are excited for me to be there with them.
We left school at lunchtime today to meet Enoch back in
Kasese. He told us to grab lunch
and then meet him, so we took Samson and Doreen out to lunch. We all ordered a Rolex, which is
chapate (fried dough) rolled up with egg in it. Probably my favorite thing to eat here. And we had sodas. It was a nice lunch, and I was glad we
could treat Samson and Doreen, as they are so good to us all the time. Then we met Enoch at yet another school
that he is affiliated with. Katie
and I were thinking of this as our weekly seminar meeting, as we talked with
Enoch about things going on in the school and challenges we were having or any
concerns. And then of course he
addressed any of our other concerns such as the unbelievable screeching noise
our car brakes make, and the 20+ cockroaches we have had in the past two
weeks. Finally, we set up our
plans for the following day in Fort Portal.
